3. The Privacy Act empowers citizens to require full, written disclosure
fro a government afficial who seeks information.
4.You may insist on complete disclosure as a pre-condition to speaking
with
any government official.
A building inspector is a government official.

Full disclosure constitutes a copy of the applicable codes, which are on
file at your local Building Official's office. If you are too lazy to
read the code, it's not the inspector's problem. Willful ignorance is
not an excuse.
